Staff are prohibited from administering medicines in school, unless it is part of an identified and agreed health care plan. Most prescribed medicines can be taken outside of normal school hours.
Parents are welcome to come to the school at an appropriate and agreed time to administer any medicine to their child. The school however does take the view that if a pupil requires any medicine prescribed by a doctor for a short period of time they may not be considered fit and well to attend school.
First Aid will be administered to your child by staff qualified in First Aid and we will notify you of any 'concerning bumps'.
Incidents are logged in school and a note of any incidents that occur is sent home. It is our policy to contact parents to seek further medical advice, even if we are unsure of the severity of the injury, especially with head bumps.
