Our School Day
🌟 Our School Day
Our school day is designed to provide structure, joy and rich learning experiences from the moment children arrive to the moment they head home.
🏫 Start of the Day
- The school gates open at 8:45am, where children are warmly welcomed by a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Gates close at 8:55am, ensuring a prompt and settled start to learning.
- We place great importance on regular attendance and punctuality, as arriving on time helps children feel calm, confident, and ready to learn.
☀️ Morning Playtime
· Key Stage 1 enjoy their break at 10:30am.
· Key Stage 2 have playtime at 11:00am.
These staggered times help us make the most of our outdoor spaces and ensure children have room to play, socialise, and recharge.
🎶 Assemblies
- Once a week, the whole school comes together for a singing assembly, celebrating music and community.
- On Fridays, we hold our achievement assembly, recognising achievements, effort and positive contributions across the school, including our Golden Welly Award, star cards, Perfect Presentation and Diamond Learner certificates.
🍽️ Lunchtime
Lunchtime runs from 12:15pm to 1:00pm, and it’s a vibrant, active part of our day. As an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school, we believe that high‑quality play is essential for children’s wellbeing, social development and creativity. Our outdoor spaces are carefully designed to offer a rich variety of play experiences that children can choose from throughout the lunch period.
We operate a free‑flow lunch, giving children the independence to decide when to eat within the lunchtime window. This flexibility helps them manage their own time, balance play with eating, and develop a sense of responsibility.
🌿 OPAL Play Zones
To support imaginative, collaborative, and inclusive play, we offer a range of designated areas, including:
- Small world zones that spark storytelling, role play and creativity
- Quiet spaces where children can relax, chat with friends, or take part in calmer activities
- Open-ended play areas that encourage teamwork, problem‑solving, and physical activity
- Tyres and building equipment for gross motor development
- Mud kitchens to support their creative and social play with friends

These varied environments help every child find something they enjoy, build friendships across year groups and develop important social skills.
📚 Afternoon Learning
Afternoon sessions begin at 1:00pm and continue until 3:25pm, offering a full and engaging curriculum to round off the day.
🌈 After-School Provision
We offer wraparound care until 4:45pm, supporting families who need extended childcare.
In addition, children can take part in a variety of after-school clubs, led by our dedicated teachers and teaching assistants, giving them opportunities to explore new interests and develop new skills.
